It is that time again. Birchbox for August.

This months theme is Back to School.

I am excited to try the Juicy Perfume and the Juice Beauty Moisturizer.

I have tried the Schick Razor and Eye Rock products before and I did not like either one of them. The razor is not sharp enough and the Eye Rock eyeliners are too dramatic for my taste.

I already own 5 C.O. Bigelow Lip Glosses in a variety of colors and I enjoy every single one of them. It is a very moisturizing gloss that has a minty scent and tingle. I love that I get to add a new one to my collection.

Jurlique - Love Balm Rose

I am very familiar with the Jurlique brand because my mother has used many products from this brand and of course I had to try them as well. I wanted to try this balm because fall and winter are just around the corner and my lips get very dry. This has a light rose oil scent and it is very moisturizing. 

On the website it says:

This multi-purpose salve is made from nourishing natural ingredients like olive oil, safflower seed oil, and beeswax, which help to hydrate. Soybean oil and vitamin E protect skin from free radicals and further dehydration while bisabolol calms irritation and minimizes redness.

Avene - Body Oil

On the other hand this brand is new to me but I had seen reviews for this body oil. I wanted to try a body oil to see if I like this consistency better than regular lotion or body butters. Once I try it out for a few weeks I can let you know what I think.

On the website it says:

The rich blend of plant-sourced oils heals even the most stubborn dryness. Infused with Avène’s signature thermal spring waters, it contains minerals to soften and restore skin’s barrier. Vitamins A and E protect skin from free-floating pollutants, while avocado oil provides a natural dose of sun protection.

What new products have you bought lately?

I tend to get cravings for certain foods and then eat them for days (sometimes weeks) at a time. 

My current craving is Bananas.

I have been enjoying them for breakfast.

Above is an open sandwich of honey whole wheat bread (toasted) with crunchy peanut butter (yummy) and a banana. To accompany my delicious breakfast I have a glass of milk.

What have you been eating for breakfast?

The Hubby surprised me with gorgeous white roses the other day. 

No special occasion or reason.

This is the best kind of surprise. 

(Bonus points if you spotted the cow napkin holder)

Irina in Hot Rollers. 

While walking around in these purple cones, I realized this would be a perfect hair-do for Halloween. 

I'm thinking 1950's housewife in rollers.

Julie and I had a Girl's Day. We go around the city and explore.

This time we decided to go to the Museum of Modern Art.

Blueberry Cream Cheese Muffins

I decided to try a new muffin recipe. The recipe was easy to follow and read well.

Verdict:

The Good: The muffins look fantastic and smell divine.

The Bad: They don't taste anywhere near how great they smell. The batter is too thick so it came out more like a blueberry cream cheese bread and they were not moist.

I will not be making these again and I do not like the recipe so I won't be posting it.

This week I wanted a darker gray color. I like that this shade has so much sparkles in it.

So my July LookBag took a fews weeks to get to me. 

Probably another issue with the mail elves. 

Here it is:

I was very excited to see this lipstick in my bag because my friend Paula has the same one in a different color and was raving about it.

Korres Mango Butter Lipstick - # 25 Natural Purple

This is a soft plum color which is very sheer. It is easy to wear and very mositurizing. This will be a great color for me to wear in the fall and winter.

I have already tried this mascara because I always like trying new ones. I don't like it.

The brush clumped my lashes and the formula barely wanted to stick to my lashes. 

Haven't tried these three yet but looking forward to it.

I went to Target to pick up a few basic household items and these are the extras that I found.

These furry moccasins are very warm and comfortable. 

I can't wait until it is a bit chiller to wear them.

Cute T-shirt with a gold owl on it.

I read about these exfoliating pads that are scrub-free and I decided to try them. They contain lactic acid which works wonders with my skin and does not dry my skin out or irritate it. I'll post a review on this product once I have used it for at least 2 weeks.

I decided to try the Almay make-up remover a few months back when it was on sale and I now adore it. It is able to remove the most stubborn of water proof mascaras. This is already my second bottle.

Trying out another make-up remover cloths but still have yet to find which one I like best.

I had heard great things about the Rimmel Natural Bronzer in Sun Light (the lightest shade). Well it turns out the reviews were right. This is a great matte bronzer that I can use all over to warm up my face or to contour my cheeks lightly.
